An agreement on energy plant research and development was sealed between the CAS Kunming Institute of Botany (KIB) and Singaporean Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory (TLL) on 8 December in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province. The document was signed by KIB Vice Director YANG Yongping and TLL Chief Operating Officer Tan Kok Keng.
By giving full play of its own advantages and based on studies of physic nut trees (
Jatropha curcas L), which is an energy-rich plant, according to the document, the two sides will carry out a wide-range of collaborations, including co-establishing a KIB-TLL join research lab on physic nut trees, visit exchanges, and personnel training.
